We provide consulting services in drug discovery. As computational modellers, we work at the interface between chemistry, biochemistry, and structural biology.
Our focus is the discovery and design of bioactive molecules.
We specialize in working with early-phase small-molecule biotech companies, to help
- translate academic IP into a commercial entity
- jump-start the drug discovery efforts, e.g. by finding novel chemical starting points
- turn Xray structures into ideas for ligands
- overcome obstacles, especially in situations where the data just don't make sense.
- Abbott's ritonavir, the first marketed HIV protease inhibitor for AIDS infections,
- Upjohn's linezolid, for resistant gram-positive bacterial infections (now Pfizer's),
- Vertex's telaprevir, the leading drug for hepatitis C infections
Furthermore, we firmly believe that excellent teamwork is essential to successful drug discovery. To that end, we also assist clients with team-building and teamwork. Van Drie Research has teamed up with Breck Arnzen and Bob Putnam to bring a variety of ‘social technologies’ to bear on our clients’ challenges.
